How about some Random Thoughts today…

Sunday, as I told you before is my favorite day of the week. It’s the day I see my church family and get a big old helping of spiritual food~the kind that’s good for you!Yesterday was no exception. I spent the day with Juju- and even took a nap on my old couch-déjà vu- just like many other Sundays, I had to laugh. To make sense of that, you’d have to know I got a new couch for my anniversary a few weeks ago and Juju got my old couch.

I love Sunday night TV. I just cry every Sunday night when I watch Extreme Home Makeover, where some deserving person gets a new house in just a few days. I also love the show Brothers and Sisters, it shows relationships in families like they truly are. Well, except for the gay married couple! The Mom loves all her kids, the brothers and sisters love and fight but are always there for each other. It’s a good show.

But the show that really grabbed me this week is the Chef Jeff Project on Food Network. He came from a prison background and has formed a life in food. He has cookbooks, and now a catering business and he is taking street kids and giving them a chance to become something. It was so moving to see him lift them up and go the extra mile to make a difference to them.

That’s one of my new favorite sayings – MAKE A DIFFERENCE. We get chances often, if we are looking, to make a difference to someone. We should look for chances. Also, remember to thank someone when they make a difference in your life.

Every day you have opportunities- take them. Give to others- listen to others. Have empathy for those who need help or have made wrong choices.  Treat others the way you want to be treated. Oh, here’s a good one~ forgive people even when they don’t ask for it. People need the love the most when they deserve it the least. We all find ourselves in that boat sometime in our life- a harsh word is spoken we can’t take back or we do something carelessly that hurts someone else. I know I have made lots of mistakes. It is so much sweeter when someone says “you’re forgiven”.

I went to sleep thinking how awesome the show Chef Jeff’s Project was and it was great to see a reality show that shows someone making a difference.

Watch it and tell me what You think!

Happy Monday everybody!

Be blessed!

Beautiful post.... you are so right about the forgiveness... it is hard at times but how many times has God forgiven us so easily when it should have been so hard!

You know, our friends make such a big difference in our lives, and our family, church family. Sometimes we can even meet a stranger and they can make a difference in our whole day and our attitude. I'd like to be that person to people. Just to set aside all worries, and putting a stranger before me, or saying a kind word... a smile!

I loved the wonderful music you brought into our home as you got some much needed rest. I looked at you as you napped and you looked so peaceful. I do appreciate all you helped me out with Sunday. I also enjoyed singing with you at church Sunday, yeah!
Okay other tired and weary friends. Come on over to Juju's when your tired and get you a GOOD nap!

Making a difference is what we can all do, whether it is something big, like you see on TV, or just being there for our family and children through the years. It is always good to look for new ways to make a difference, which could mean just smiling at stranger's we meet.
