A day out of my Me Journal

The weather today is: Beautiful –a fine fall day- the days you wish could stay around for ever. Not too hot, a little cold and crisp in the evening.

In the news today: The economy and Politics. Mostly the economy.

News and events with my family and friends: Yesterday my son’s girlfriend Ashley, Ryder’s mother, lost her Dad. It was sudden and unexpected. He was younger than me I believe. He died of a heart attack. Please pray for their family. Ashley and Ryder were in a bad car accident when they were leaving the hospital. I am so thankful they are okay.

I am excited about: Today we are having professional pictures made of my grandchildren. I can’t wait to show them off. It’s exciting to get new pictures of my beauties! It’s a beautiful day for it.

I am concerned about: The economy and so many people who are affected that I know. The price of gas is going down thankfully. Everyone is feeling the crunch of our economy in some way-restaurants are hurting because people don’t go out as much- I have two kids in the restaurant business.

Physically and mentally I feel: Physically, I  need to lose weight. I am frustrated with myself for gaining what I lost last year and need to get a life change in this area. Mentally- I feel good because I know who holds my tomorrows and I am His. My heart and well being mentally are good because they rest In God.

What I learned today: That having a day off and sleeping late can sure cure what ails you, especially at the end of two very busy weeks or is that 3 busy weeks?

People/ things that brighten my day: OF COURSE- my grandchildren- spending time with friends – good music- spending time in the Word or talking to God to name a few.

What I did to brighten someone’s day: I need to work on this one today. You always feel better when you do something for others. That’s my philosophy.

Good ideas for a better tomorrow: Encourage people I know to see the movie “Fireproof” for their marriage.

Encourage people to find a church home for a family to walk along beside them while they are here on earth.

When you are weak in an area –such as I am at discipline when it comes to exercise and eating right –find someone to walk beside you and help you-someone to be accountable too. I need that!

Encourage people to love their families and friends with all they have for we are not promised tomorrow.

Enjoy this beautiful weekend-This is the day the Lord has made-I will rejoice and be glad in it.

Be blessed!

Yes, these are some scary times, it's hard to remember who holds our future when the news is so grim. Can't wait to see the pics!

It was a great day indeed, and a great week for the kids to be out of school. I really enjoyed the time with you and your little munchkins this evening. Ryder is going to be in concert very soon, I just know it:) They were all so sweet singing with us on the way home tonight.
Love you!

The economy thought is hitting home with everyone. I just thank the Lord that He is our provider and we don't have to give in to fear. Great post.
God bless,
Brenda :)

I did the same thing Lorie! I am up the same amount of weight that I worked so hard to lose just last year. I cannot believe that I have done that. Not only did I spend the time, the HAIR LOSS from it, but also a chunk of money. I have no idea why I do this to myself.

But mentally I feel the same as you too. God is just so GOOD!

I’m back……Today I caught up on all the blogs I missed. I saved you for last because I wanted to read each word slowly and not speed read like I did with some to catch myself up. I hope you know how special you are – just in case you forgot – YOU ARE SPECIAL! Now what’s the deal with your last blog being three days ago??

I'm stopping by SSS to say hi. I'm sorry about the sudden death of a friend. My son in law suddenly lost his little brother last week. I can empathize. I hope your son's girlfriend will have comfort.
