Things been happening in my world...

I have been a busy camper this month of October. Job wise_I changed jobs. I am no longer the Activities Coordinator at the Senior Center, in time I will be the Marketing Director. The Marketing Director is retiring and for a while I am learning the ropes from her, then comes the responsibility, along with the pay of being the Director and raising money for this place I love.
Life wise-My granbabies are still beautiful, my life is still good. I have got to spend time with family-LOVE IT! Ryder had his first haircut. Abby's favorite word is bye-bye. I saw extended family from Knoxville and got to spend time with them -too short though-I must make time to go visit.
Best of all, I have been praying constantly for people that I love ~Papa Peete and his whole family.His daughter Barbie is my best friend. Papa has throat cancer and the way has been rough and steep and tearfully many hours I have spent in prayer. GOD is so GOOD! Papa's pet scan came back cancer-free. He has a long road of recovery, then He and Meme are moving to Alabama, what a blessing that will be. As I have thanked God I marvel at how surprised we get when He answers our prayers and gives us the desires of our hearts. I THANK HIM!! I am not surprised by this outcome really, I prayed for it. I like to say "Speak not as though it were not" about things that are just more than we can imagine, meaning don't think the worse. So now I want to believe-"Pray as if it is, and stand back and watch GOD!" Because even at the worst case scenario -HE will give us what we need to get through anything we are going through.

As a parent I have often had questions, fears, guilt and frustration. Thankfully, now I feel mostly proud and blessed as a parent. I have learned to let go and let God. But it was not always easy. I would say they are yours God -you love them more than I do please take care of them -then the next glitch would come and I would take them back. We do this with lots of worries and fears we have. I have anyway.

I can teach you things

But I cannot always be there to lead you.

As parents we will make mistakes, we can try and do what’s right and we still will have problems, because children come with free-will just like we did. If God couldn’t force actions on his first born what makes us think we can.

I know that to make it through children you need a pair of knee pads and just when you think they came out alright it starts all over with your grandbabies.

The Porch

A blonde teenager, wanting to earn some extra money for summer,
decided to hire herself out as a "handy-woman" and started canvassing a nearby well-to-do neighborhood.
She went to the front door of the first house, and asked the owner if he had any odd jobs for her to do. "Well, I guess I could use somebody to paint my porch," he said,"How much will you charge me?"
Delighted, the girl quickly responded,"How about $50?" The man agreed and told her that the paint brushes andeverything she would need was in the garage.
His wife overhearing their conversation said to him..."Does she realize that our porch goes ALL the way around the house?
He responded, "That's a bit cynical, isn't it?"
The wife replied, "You're right. I guess I'm starting to believe all those dumb blonde jokes we've been getting by email lately.."
Later that day, the blonde came to the door to collect her money.
"You're finished already?" the startled husband asked.
"Yes," the blonde replied, "and I even had paint left over, so I gave it two coats."
Impressed, the man reached into his pocket for the $50.00 and handed her a $10.00 tip.
"Thank you!!" she said, "And by the way," the blonde added,"it's not a Porch, it's a Lexus."

My Trip to T’town :o)

This past weekend I went to see Bama Princess with Lisa, one of my dearest friends from High School.

It rained and rained, but that didn’t dampen our spirits.

Friday night we ate at a GREAT restaurant named the Cypress Inn. It was delicious, then we went to see Love Happens –it was a good movie.

Friday night-sweet Whit let us sleep in her comfy bed…

Saturday a.m. we woke to pouring rain…

Then the most wonderful thing happened it stopped and we walked the short distance to the stadium…

You can see it from her front door!

We had the best time!It didn’t rain the whole game. WE beat that lil’ old team from North Texas.

Most of all, I enjoyed time with my baby girl. It is hard for me to believe she will graduate in just 3 months time.

She can do and be anything she sets her mind to and I hope she sets it high. I am very proud of her. I will be watching to see what great things she does.

I’m ready to go back-I never thought I’d be a Bama Fan but something about your heart and your money being there changes things-so for now my orange and blue shirt hangs in my closet. I kind of like the look of Houndstooth!

  I said I was back and I proceeded to have a busy week with two twelve hour work days. Today I overslept, so I am staying home to pack for a SWEET trip to T’Town to see my baby girl and go the ballgame tomorrow.I am really excited –its been 30 something years since I’ve been to an Alabama game.

I'm Back!

It has been a long time since I posted. I have had router problems at home, the busiest month of all at work and life moving full speed ahead. Each week in August began with Revival every Monday night and I was revived. I want to change some things for the better in my life. I want to live a life that matters. In a book I am reading it says "Friends don't let friends go to Hell". I am going to be more proactive in sharing my FAITH. That begins with me spending more time with HIM.

With much blessing comes much responsibility and I know I am blessed.

I have stories to tell and pictures to share so be watching because I'm back....
