Time fly’s when You’re having FUN!

I can’t believe it’s been more than a week since I blogged but I’ve been busy living. Can you believe that I still have my Christmas trees up and it is the middle of January.

Last week I had to drive Bama Princess to TTown because yes, her car was totaled and all that is going to take longer than expected – so Thursday down and back in one day. But I love any time I get to spend with her –time goes swiftly by and soon she will be grown and not need Momma anymore!

Saturday I headed to Hotlanta with Barbie my best friend and Juju my other best friend and that is always fun!

Sunday am I kidded and said I could not get up in time to make the first shuttle at 8:00am-and I simply had to have some church service time and could probably make the 9:30 shuttle. Juju took my picture with Joel Osteen(I’m not sure I agree with all his doctrine) But I truly was missing my church and especially my SS Sistas.

We had three days of Market time and Barbie got some great stuff for her shop and it was memory making as usual.

I couldn’t wait to get home though to see how much my little Boobear had grown.

Meme got her to sleep and loves holding her!

 

Anna and Emma are wonderful big sisters and they love her so much. I love to hear them sing to her with their sweet little voices.

They spent the night with me and Papa last night and there is nothing better than snuggling with lil boos!

I have more news to share, but I’ll get into it with you next time~I have a long weekend this weekend and hope to take down trees –makeover my pantry – prepare for changes-Celebrate Barbie’s birthday-catch up on some of your blogs. I’ll definitely be in church this Sunday- I missed three weeks in a row-first one was sickness, second one was helping birth my baby, and last weeks trip. If I hadn’t been reading the Word and a great book-He Knows My Name by Priscilla Shirer-well I’d be plumb empty!!!

Day 2- Am I being obnoxious?

Yesterday was day 2 of Little Abby’s life. I worked all day and then headed for the hospital.

I was so glad to be there when my Mom and Dad- Nanny and Poppy returned from their holiday trip to Knoxville and met their 4th great-grandbaby.

We call Poppy the baby-whisperer~ he can do this sweet low hum and calm any baby-(I hope I am a little like Him- I haven’t met a baby I don’t love or can’t try to calm).

Then Aunt Whitney got to hold her for the first time-

She was dressed so precious because she had her pictures made that day.

Her big Sister’s came too –they were missing Mommy and Daddy as well as wanting to see Abby.

One of my dearest oldest friends from High school came by~Lisa. She loves babies!

I ordered Mommy and Daddy some good supper and

Bama Princess and I ate with them.

My sweet baby-better known here as Mommy looked so pretty today too…

Abby made her first fashion statement!

God is good all the time!!! Mother and baby are fine.. More than fine!!!

Abby Lynn was born at 11:27. She weighed 7lbs7oz. She was 19 inches long with a head full of  dark hair.

Mommy and Daddy had some memorable moments getting through delivery so MeMe got to stay in and assist. All I can say without the whole story is God does answer prayers and He does often give us the desires of our hearts.

Emma and Anna showed up soon after birth and couldn’t be happier or sweeter.

They watched Daddy help with her bath.

She got up on her knees and elbows while she was being bathed!

See she’s already amazing!!

 

Meme got to tell her how much she loves her!

Anna and Emma both held her and sang to her.

Mommy loves her new bundle!

My Word for the year- Discipline

Discipline-

~to train by instruction and exercise; drill.

~to bring to a state of order and obedience by training and control.

~to punish or penalize in order to train and control; correct; chastise.

I need discipline in many areas of my life. Let’s see- the eating and exercise department. Also, the taking care of myself department. Very important-quiet time and bible study department.

Yes –Discipline is my word for 2009- the year I turn 50. It's about time for me to become disciplined, isn't it?

       this teaching is a light,
       and the corrections of discipline
       are the way to life.

I heard somewhere that 50 was the new 40- the 40's weren't bad for me. I was blessed with soon to be 4 grandchildren. I had more blessings than I could count.

But 50 is hopefully when I work on being the best me I can, with discipline and change.

I’m hoping to be the Little Engine who could

My kids always loved this book when they were little.

The story of the little engine has been told and retold many times. The underlying theme however is the same - a stranded train is unable to find an engine willing to take it on over difficult terrain to its destination. Only the little blue engine is willing to try, and while repeating the mantra "I think I can, I think I can" overcomes a seemingly impossible task.

“As it neared the top of the grade, which had so discouraged the larger engines, it went more slowly. However, it still kept saying, "I--think--I--can, I--think--I--can." It reached the top by drawing out bravery and then went on down the grade, congratulating itself by saying, "I thought I could, I thought I could."

My seemingly impossible task is to get a handle on my health, by that I mean lose weight and be healthier. I want to live long to enjoy my grandkids and not worry about my weight. I am trying to study and ask questions and learn about doing it in a way that is a lifestyle change not a fad diet. Last year I lost 30 pounds on a fad diet and gained almost all of it back.

Can you say frustrating!!!!!!

My husband says it will be really hard for a lady who loves to cook, who loves to entertain, who loves trying new recipes and cooking great food- so now my focus must change to great healthy food and better choices. In other words teaching an old dog new tricks.

Maree has been an inspiration- she lost over 60 pounds and is willing to help me along and spur me to Live Strong!

Christmas was Awesome!

I loved my Christmas day-it was family, food, fun filled and it was blessed.

It had grand children…

 

It had 4 generations…

It had lots of presents…

It had lots of good food-again no pictures of food-we get to eating when that happens.

It especially had lots of love and memories…

It had a little chaos with 24 plus opening gifts and all in one place…

Nanny and Poppy were there with all 4 children and their families. We truly believe in the reason for the season and we were thankful for a good family day.We ended the day playing games and singing. What could be better than that?

It didn’t matter what the gifts were –there were thoughtful ones and we even played Dirty Santa with the grown-ups but nobody really got dirty and everyone was happy.

I’m especially happy to have Bama Princess home-

She got a day after Christmas surprise we hope will work out okay- a young man who was driving fast and texting, hit and probably totaled her little red Beetle . Thankfully she wasn’t in it or getting out of it-it was in front of her brother’s house. A car can be replaced but my baby cannot, so all is well .

Christmas is definitely a special day- we think of it as Jesus Birthday and we are thankful we have Him in our hearts and homes. It makes special times more special.
