Start today and practice Random Acts of Kindness.
A random act of kindness is a purportedly selfless act performed by a person or persons wishing to either assist or cheer up an individual or in some cases even an animal. There will generally be no reason other than to make people smile, or be happier. Either spontaneous or planned in advance, random acts of kindness are encouraged by various communities. An oft-cited example of a random act of kindness is, when paying the toll at a toll booth on a highway, to pay the toll for the vehicle behind you as well. Go to a fast food restaurant and pay the person behind you’s tab.
On my 100th post I will start a Pay It Forward of small gifts-possibly a devotional book or something that will brighten someone’s life and bring a smile, then we will try to keep track of how it goes.
It almost feels like a caress from Heaven when you receive an unexpected kindness. Like in that moment God smiled on you and used someone else to administer a tiny thoughtful gift. James 1:17 says:
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

this is so weird as I was just thinking about this yesterday. on my 22nd birthday I drove by HGE and saw a woman set up in a tent in the woods across the highway. I decided I'd bring her breakfast. This is pretty common for me as I think God really gave me a heart and an accurate perception of danger threat for homeless people. I went by and dropped off some breakfast for her. I cant really remember exactly what happened after that... but somehow I ended up asking her to come back to my house. I washed her clothes and let her take a bath in the jacuzzi tub. She was trying to get pretty far north so we looked on the internet and got her a bus ticket to the place she was looking to go. I wasn't sure how I was going to pay for it till I went out to get the mail and there were birthday checks totaling 105.00. WHICH WAS THE EXACT AMOUNT OF THE BUS TICKET WITH TAX!! I knew it was God. It was one of the most amazing moments in my life. I felt so blessed by God to be able to provide such minor things that I take for granted for someone who never gets those things. It was amazing!!!!
Oh Krissy, that's awesome.... I left mine on another entry but I'll tell it again... we were at the drive through at Mc Donalds maybe a year ago, on a Sunday morning... the car in front of us paid for our breakfast. They waved as they drove away and we didn't recognize the car... we followed them all the way to church it was Neal ( April's Neal) he bought our breakfast! Such a great feeling we had all day long!
I have another one I just thought of... there used to be a homeless man that lived under a bridge in Anniston...It hurt me that he didn't have any shoes, he had layers of socks on with duck tap. He walked in snow like this. I had tried to get our church to help, but they said he wouldn't accept help. One morning I prayed as I went to the store if there are a pair of shoes at the PX for under 20.00, and a size 12 I'll know I'm suppose to buy them for this man. There they are on the clearance shelf.. 19.99, no tax at the px. I placed the shoes on the side of the road, my kids were afraid... the shoes sat there for days, he walked past them in more rain and snow... I couldn't understand why... so I wrote him a note... EVERYONE laughed at me. The next day the shoes were on his feet!
I love pay it forward events! My hubby kind of teased me about it when we were first married. My statments that started, "God told me to..." weren't always met with great reception. However, like in Krissy's case, he quickly learned that God would always provide for our needs and the needs of those I was trying to minister to if we would just be obedient. 18 years later, he'll actually say to me, "God hasn't told you to buy dinner for anyone lately. Are you sure you're listening?"

Does it count that I didn't do any bodily harm to anyone today? Or that I did not scream at anyone? How about that I went to Peggy Ann's and went on a sweet rampage and then shared with all the people I wanted to scream at and possibly do bodily harm to?
