Fridays –how I love you

The weeks seem to go by so swiftly. I work Monday through Thursday and get my 40 in in 4 days. So most Friday mornings you find me sleeping until I wake up, then sitting in my chair, drinking coffee and reading blogs. I love relaxing Friday mornings –it’s a reward after a busy bustling week. I’m thinking about my already filled weekend and how beautiful the weather is. Tomorrow my Sunday school sisters and I are heading to Bell Buckle Tennessee

for a fun day of food , friends walking and all the crafts a little country town can hold. We have so much fun, we even made up a sound to round each other up.We sing or whistle kind of like the sound of that Indian kind of music and we can find each other. It’s funny but it works. Me and Juju do it louder than anybody!!!

I can’t wait- the weather is perfect.

Sunday –I am driving to get my Ryder boy in Birmingham –he is on his first trip to the beach  with his Mom and Dad. I hope they are having fun, Chase will be 28 Tuesday and that was his gift for his birthday –a few days at the beach with his family. I wish I was with them.

I just had the best surprise my best friend just walked over to see me –still in my gown tail at almost lunch time.

Well fun or should I say grandkids called and I have been shopping and to a fun night at the pumpkin farm.

*I’m so happy that my grandbabies want to spend time with me.

*I’m so happy I have been blessed with great friends who are family.

* I’m so happy that I have a great group of ladies in my Sunday school class and we like to spend time together.

* I’m so happy that basically I have a optimistic view of life and that I believe that we can make a choice to have JOY and I have!

I better get to bed tomorrow is another full day of love, sunshine and JOY!

It’s Friday-Time for JOY

Last night my house was full of my family and close friends. I fixed Taco Soup , Mexican cornbread and Apple Crisp with Vanilla Ice cream. There’s nothing I love better than a full house and children running around and good food.We even had our dear friend Christy –Juju’s daughter come and do head and shoulder massages in her massage chair. Then two of my baby darlings stayed to spend the night with Meme~ I woke up to this…

 

It’s the last day of Fall Break and my sweet baby girls and I are going to spend the day together and do girlie things, like shop and go to lunch and maybe take in a movie.

First I wanted to share some thoughts from this week –then Half Full Friday.

Wednesday I went to the funeral of a man I loved. His name was Carl. I met him on the first day I went to work at the Senior Center –he came to my room and said “If you need help, need to know something-I’m your man. I’m like the Big man around here”. He quickly became my favorite man! Mr. Carl turned 85 that year and one of the things that made him special was although he suffered with Lou Gehrig's disease and was crippled by it, he had the best spirit and out look than anybody I know. As I sat at his funeral Wednesday, I was thinking that what made him the most special is the way he had of making you think you were the most special to him. I was thinking how blessed I was to know him and that was what I would miss –how special he was to me and how special he made me feel to him. As I was sitting there thinking this-the pastor said that was what made Carl such a great man , he had probably made each person there feel so special and important.

I hope that’s something I learned from him- the ability to make others feel special and important. God bless you Mr. Carl, now you are walking in Heaven and you’ve had a sweet reunion with your wife.

By the way it is now Saturday morning –my Friday post was preempted for this…

I spent the afternoon with my favorite little people. I t was a gorgeous afternoon!

So finally what brings me joy and fills me up-

* I’m so happy to work at the Senior Center, where I have got to spend time with amazing people.

*I’m so happy that I have 4 little people in my life that are mine, who think Meme is pretty fun to be around and that I know a few more that belong to my best friends who think so too.

* I’m so happy that Fall and soup time are here. I love soup and cornbread!

* I’m so happy for laughter and music –two things I couldn’t do without!

* I’m thankful for God’s word- my verse for today is Philippians 2 in The Message-^14-16Do everything readily and cheerfully—no bickering, no second-guessing allowed! Go out into the world uncorrupted, a breath of fresh air in this squalid and polluted society. Provide people with a glimpse of good living and of the living God. Carry the light-giving Message into the night so I'll have good cause to be proud of you on the day that Christ returns. You'll be living proof that I didn't go to all this work for nothing.

Today is a new day-I better get out there…

Half Full Friday on Saturday

Wew- Meme had a busy week! It started with a beautiful Sunday- church was wonderful- I sang I Will Love You  by Jason Crabb. I had to practice over and over so I wouldn’t cry when I sang it. Have a listen…

Then My grandbaby girls came home after a 10 days from Florida.

Monday was my Precious Emma’s 7th Birthday. She is an awesome, smart, beautiful, loving Spirit filled little girl.It’s true if you just meet her , you realize she is special!

I worked a lot of hours this week. I even worked most of the day Friday which is my off day-but I got to go to a Health Fair for retired people and meet a lot of sweet elderly people and tell them how cool the place I work is.

Friday night I got to see Emma and Anna play their last Fall Softball games-they  enjoyed it. I enjoy watching and cheering.

I forgot to mention Monday Night 30 family and close friends enjoyed Dinner at my son –in -loves Chili’s for St. Jude’s evening. All the proceeds went to St Jude’s, but even better just about all the people I love and hold dear were together at a very long table and we ate, laughed, and had birthday cake. It was hectic, but sweet! And we supported a good cause on top of that.

If all this didn’t seem like enough to be half full I’ll add a few more.

* I’m so thankful and happy for cooler temperatures and that Fall is coming!

* I’m so happy that my sweet daughter Bama Princess,  aka Whitney got a great job and starts training Monday –she also has a wonderful young man in her life that treats her awesome and really cares about her.

*I’m so happy and fortunate to have a good job and a healthy loving family. I know it ! There are so many layoffs in our area and there is so much sickness. I am thankful.

* I am so happy to read other blogs on a daily basis where I am encouraged , enlightened and even entertained.

* I’ll always say I’m so happy God loves me even though I don’t deserve it. He takes my burdens and makes them lighter!

Half Full Friday- Heck I’m all filled up!

*I am happy that I have a place where I can write my thoughts, share pictures, put feelings and opinions and express praise- my blog!

*I am happy that other bloggers encourage me by their thoughts, their pictures , their feelings and opinions and how they share praise!

*I am happy that I know on Friday mornings I will be encouraged to make a list of all things I am grateful for -Thanks EyeGirl and Betsy

*I am Happy I am off every Friday -this morning I got up at 5:30 to go to my church and help with a ministry opportunity. They feed our local high school cheerleaders and football team a full breakfast every game day to show them someone loves them and is behind them.

*I am happy that this week I have been married 19 years to a good, loving Christian man.

*I am happy that he got me an iPhone for my anniversary present-I've been wanting one for a long time.

*I am happy that I graduated from high school 33 years ago and I have some friends from then that have been through thick and thin literally with me. Oh, the fun we've had and the things we've shared! I had a few of them and a few of our other friends and my Sissy over last night.

*I’m happy that last night I found some pictures from two months ago, and remembered how special beach time with the family was!

* I am happy that I love to read and have read several books this week.

* I am thankful I got to eat lunch with my two special boys this week.

* I am thankful for my Sunday school class- I love those ladies.

* I am thankful that one of the things I’m most sure of in my life is the Love and Mercy God has for me!

My cup runneth over!

I’ve been wanting to come back!

I have missed blogging , but I’ve been in a funk sort of and had a block. It seemed like life was having changes and I was more busy than ever. I feel overwhelmed with things I need to do, things I want to do, things I should be doing and what all I’m actually getting done.

Does that make sense to anyone? Thank you ma’am- thank you sir- I believe you just said “yes honey I know what you mean”-right now while you were reading so I feel better already!!

I can always get inspired here in the blog world and one person that I never miss reading is Betsy-she is awesome and I love the peeks she gives to her everyday life . She is a blessing. Half Full Friday

Here is my looking at life half full list for today:

*I am happy I am off every Friday and I spend it with people I love , doing things I love!

*I am happy that if I have a new job that affords me the ability to pay my youngest daughters student loans and she finished school and got a job.

* I am happy that I have the best of friends who are there for me even when I don’t see them everyday!

* I am happy that Tuesday ~September 21st I will be celebrating 19 years in a safe, happy, Christ centered, non violent marriage!

* I am happy that I am getting back to my old self and not feeling so scattered, smothered and diced like Waffle House hashbrowns!!!!

* I am happy Fall’s Coming.

* I am happy to desire to spend time with you -my blog that I have enjoyed sharing on for several years.

* I am happy that because of blogs –I feel like I have met some really unique and awesome people!!!

This time last week

A week ago yesterday I was enjoying a drive on a beautiful day with my sweet Mama. We were on our way to Scottsboro, AL  to stay in a cabin on the lake with my best friend, Barbie and her Mom and sisters as well as my sissy Julie. My other best friend, Juju and her Mom and sisters were coming on Saturday.

I can’t wait for our next weekend away. I am thankful for my blessings! I wish you could have been there on the back porch while we sang “When we all get to Heaven” in sweet harmony, even “Delta Dawn” and the boogar song !

Living the good life and another year older!

It seems the older you get the faster time flies.

A week comes and then it goes, I love the sweet times when you slow down and watch a movie with people you love or sit down and eat together.

Of course I love every opportunity to be with my grandbabies – I wish I could see my Ryder boy more than I do. I’ll see him tomorrow and all my loved ones at a cookout at my best friends house for my birthday.

This picture was taken looking through a field and through the trees after a rainstorm, where we were the sky was still dark –but look peeping through the trees was the sunshine –that’s the way life is. We may go through storms but they don’t last-they just help  us appreciate the sunshine in our life’s or should I say SONSHINE.
