Through the eyes of a child....

None of these are my grandchildren, but I wanted to help my sweet blog friends remember the magic of Christmas as seen with childlike eyes.
I do not know what I want someone to give me for Christmas.
Wind-up mechanical toys that make noises and go round and round and do funny things....
Well, okay, that's close, but not quite exactly it.
It's delight and simplicity that I want.
Foolishness and fantasy and noise.
Angels and miracles and wonder and innocence and magic.
That's closer to what I want.
It's harder to talk about, but what I really, really want for Christmas is just this:
I want to be five years old again for an hour.
( Excerpt from Everything I need to know about Christmas I learned from Jesus)

Seek joy in what you give not in what you get.
Now and then it's good to pause in our pursuit of happiness and just be happy.
The best of all gifts around any Christmas tree:
The presence of a happy family all wrapped up in each other.
Be blessed!

I wish I was five again, and my Momma was making me a long red velvet dress, and I could wear my hair up in a bun, and put in my little fake curls that I used to have..... and those black pantent leather shoes..... or I wish I had a 5 year old to dress up!

What a great blog, and what a great post! It's funny; I'm a year younger than you, and I have one child. He's 8. Having him later in life (I was 40, his dad was 50 when he was born) gave me a different perspective. I love watching him grow, and I don't want to hurry through anything. I rediscovered the moon, and bugs, and mud.. and that being in your room by yourself at night can be scary. That dogs are big and scary, until you get your own; and then suddenly EVERY dog is your friend. That puddles aren't a nuisance~they're a joy; and that skipping is MUCH more fun than just walking. I had forgotten all of that and so much more (umm.. like multiplication tables and grammer rules... ). So yes, looking through the eyes of a child has been the most wonderful thing that ever happened to me, and I thank God that HE knew what I needed and when.
Be blessed....
