Thankful Thursday

Dear Heavenly Father,
I thank you for my family. I thank you that I have beautiful Christian parents that raised us to love and serve You. I thank you that you blessed me with the gift of children who have blessed me with wonderful GRANDCHILDREN. I thank you for my brothers and sister. I thank you Lord that you have walked with us in good and hard times and never forsaken us. I thank you for a husband who took a family of a single Mom and three children to love and take care of.
I thank you for freedom. I thank you for so many blessings undeserved and most of all for GRACE!
In your Son's precious name, Amen

My Little Ballerina

Emma had her ballet recital last night and she was a STAR. That was actually the name of her little group and in MeMe's eyes she was the Star!Anna wanted to be a ballerina and get a prize like her sister and I'm sure she will some day because she walks on her tippy toes all the time.Emma looked so big and beautiful-she had mascara on and Mommy put her makeup on-MeMaw Barbie did her hair up and put on her crown.Anna said okay where's my prize? I've sat there for an hour and been a big girl. She is MeMe's beauty too and one day I'll be watching her twinkle around the Concert Hall stage and again I'll just about burst with pride and think she was the best one up there. I am so blessed to have sweet baby girls!

When I say Be Blessed...

When I end my blog I sometimes say Be Blessed or I might leave you a comment and I say be blessed. On most of my correspondence I say these words. It is not something I take lightly because that is my thought which is a prayer that you are blessed. I got an email today and it was entitled Be blessed-(thank you Boo). Upon completion of receiving the email and its content, I just sat there and said to myself, that is exactly what I mean when I say be blessed. Upon more investigation and finding a copy of this I could share, I found this was made by a pastor of a sweet church in New Orleans and if anyone needed those words along with the meaning and still do, it would be New Orleans and all they have been through. Please turn off my music at the bottom of my blog and clear a few minutes to let this video minister to you, speak to you and the next time you see Be blessed~Meme Lorie, know this is what I mean from my heart to yours. Please watch this all the way, part of the best is 5 minutes into it when it says " I see your future and you are better" When we pray for each other we have that power by the Holy Spirit and with God working to make lives better. Thank you Lord! This video ministers to me and if I could have wrote the words from my heart of what I mean when I say Be blessed, this would be it. He says we have power in our words -oh how true. Watch and enjoy! And my friend Be blessed!

Let me Share

I had a full weekend- Friday one of my friends and sisters from Sunday School had serious complications with a day surgery and ended up in serious condition in SICU. She is still serious -please pray for Teresa.

Saturday, I prepared a lunch for a Bridal Party getting there hair and other things done before the wedding- I fixed box lunches with Chicken Salad Croissants, fruit salad, brownies, chips pickles and Mint Tea. That evening Barbie and I went to the wedding -it was beautiful and the reception was fun with great food. It was held at our Art Museum.

IN the middle of the night I got sick so I did not make it to church Sunday.

The highlight of my weekend was overnight guest Ryder. Here are pictures of him, pictures with Poppy, pictures with his cousins my grandgirls, Emma and Anna.

The last pictures are of MeMe's backseat full of love. Three car seats with my most precious cargo.

We ended tonight grilling and watching ET.

Let's see, did I mention I have another grandbaby on the way? Pray for Ashley and baby.

While your praying remember my friend Scott all day Tuesday, he is having surgery for colon cancer.

I have the best grandkids and I love every minute I have with them.

I thank you for letting me share a little of my heart with you.

Be blessed!

Let it GO

I was looking back over some things I've saved and this one is one I need. It's by one of my "Favorite" Men of God. I have been blessed to go to the Potter's House on my trips to Big D.
Read this words and see if you didn't need them today.
By T. D. Jakes
There are people who can walk away from you. And hear me when I tell you this! When people can walk away from you: let them walk. I don't want you to try to talk another person into staying with you, loving you, calling you, caring about you, coming to see you, staying attached to you. I mean hang up the phone. When people can walk away from you let them walk. Your destiny is never tied to anybody who left. The Bible said that, they came out from us that it might be made manifest that they were not for us. For had they been of us, no doubt they would have continued with us. [1 John 2:19] People leave you because they are not joined to you. And if they are not joined to you, you can't make them stay. Let them go. And it doesn't mean that they are a bad person it just means that their part in the story is over And you've got to know when people's part in your story is over so that you don't keep trying to raise the dead. You've got to know when it's dead. You've got to know when it's over... Let me tell you something. I've got the gift of good-bye. It's the tenth spiritual gift, I believe in good-bye. It's not that I'm hateful, it's that I'm faithful, and I know whatever God means for me to have He'll give it to me. And if it takes too much sweat I don't need it. Stop begging people to stay. Let them go!! If you are holding on to something that doesn't belong to you and was never intended for your life, then you need to.......LET IT GO!!! If you are holding on to past hurts and pains ......LET IT GO!!! If someone can't treat you right, love you back, and see your worth.....LET IT GO!!! If someone has angered you ........LET IT GO!!! If you are holding on to some thoughts of evil and revenge......LET IT GO!!! If you are involved in a wrong relationship or addiction.....LET IT GO!!! If you are holding on to a job that no longer meets your needs or talents …LET IT GO!!! If you have a bad attitude......... LET IT GO!!! If you keep judging others to make yourself feel better......LET IT GO!!!If you're stuck in the past and God is trying to take you to a new level in Him......LET IT GO!!! If you are struggling with the healing of a broken relationship.......LET IT GO!!!If you keep trying to help someone who won't even try to help themselves.....LET IT GO!!! If you're feeling depressed and stressed .........LET IT GO!!!If there is a particular situation that you are so used to handling yourself and God is saying "take your hands off of it," then you need to......LET IT GO!!! Let the past be the past. Forget the former things. GOD is doing a new thing for you…LET IT GO!!!
Get Right or Get Left .. think about it, and then LET IT GO!!!

Spending time with Family and Friends is the Best

This week has been a good week. Monday was my best friend Juju's birthday. As we always do, we had dinner together at Barbie's house. Her parents came and my parents came. It's always wonderful to spend time with your parents. We both feel so blessed to have wonderful Christian parents and that they are still with us.Last night, Tuesday, my grandgirls came home. They had been out of town for awhile and I feel like a part of me is missing when they aren't around. Since they live down the street and I get to see them everyday -I am spoiled!!! I know it.

Tonight was family dinner at my house- I fixed meatloaf (the best if I say so myself) mashed potatoes, homemade slaw, macaroni and cheese, succotash, squash mush and cornbread muffins and brown gravy. I had peach cobbler and vanilla bean ice cream for desert. My daughter Ashley and her husband came with the girls and so did my Mom and Dad. We watched the finale of American Idol. I wanted David Archaletta to win, but I like David Cook too.

I need to stop and brag on my Son-in -love Donny, the reason they were out of town is he had an Award Banquet in Memphis. For the third year in a row - he won Best General Manager of the whole Southeast region for Chili's. He is very good at what he does and taking care of my girls. He got two other awards, most profit and something about quota and sales. More big trophies and a free trip to Hawaii for two weeks. It is his third trip - you think he should take his Mom in law? This is me and Mom and Poppy. I am blessed -two nights this week we've had dinner together.

While I'm showing off my family and friends, I thought I'd show off my husband John. He is an engineer, (pray for me)an avid golfer, a football coach, a Great Papa and he is a good husband.
So just some things going around in my world. I am blessed.

I pray you are blessed!!!

Choices

I love this email and wanted to share it.

LET IT REALLY SINK IN - THEN CHOOSE .
John is the kind of guy you love to hate. He is always in a good mood and always has something positive to say. When someone would ask him how he was doing, he would reply, 'If I were any better, I would be twins!'
He was a natural motivator.
If an employee was having a bad day, John was there telling the employee how to look on the positive side of the situation.
Seeing this style really made me curious, so one day I went up and asked him, 'I don't get it!
You can't be a positive person all of the time. How do you do it?'
He replied, 'Each morning I wake up and say to myself, you have two choices today. You can choose to be in a good mood or You can choose to be in a bad mood
I choose to be in a good mood.'
Each time something bad happens, I can choose to be a victim or...I can choose to learn from it. I choose to learn from it.
Every time someone comes to me complaining, I can choose to accept their complaining or... I can point out the positive side of life. I choose the positive side of life.
'Yeah, right, it's not that easy,' I protested.
'Yes, it is,' he said. 'Life is all about choices. When you cut away all the junk, every situation is a choice. You choose how you react to situations. You choose how people affect your mood.
You choose to be in a good mood or bad mood. The bottom line: It's your choice how you live your life.'
I reflected on what he said. Soon hereafter, I left the Tower Industry to start my own business. We lost touch, but I often thought about him when I made a choice about life instead of reacting to it.
Several years later, I heard that he was involved in a serious accident, falling some 60 feet from a communications tower.
After 18 hours of surgery and weeks of intensive care, he was released from the hospital with rods placed in his back.
I saw him about six months after the accident.
When I asked him how he was, he replied, 'If I were any better, I'd be twins...Wanna see my scars?'
I declined to see his wounds, but I did ask him what had gone through his mind as the accident took place.
'The first thing that went through my mind was the well-being of my soon-to-be born daughter,' he replied. 'Then, as I lay on the ground, I remembered that I had two choices: I could choose to live or...I could choose to die. I chose to live.'
'Weren't you scared? Did you lose consciousness?' I asked
He continued, 'the paramedics were great.
They kept telling me I was going to be fine. But when they wheeled me into the ER and I saw the expressions on the faces of the doctors and nurses, I got really scared. In their eyes, I read 'he's a dead man'. I knew I needed to take action.'
'What did you do?' I asked.
'Well, there was a big burly nurse shouting questions at me,' said John. 'She asked if I was allergic to anything 'Yes, I replied.' The doctors and nurses stopped working as they waited for my reply. I took a deep breath and yelled, 'Gravity'.'
Over their laughter, I told them, 'I am choosing to live. Operate on me as if I am alive, not dead.'
He lived, thanks to the skill of his doctors, but also because of his amazing attitude... I learned from him that every day we have the choice to live fully.
Attitude, after all, is everything.
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.' Matthew 6:34.
After all today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday.Photobucket
